Designers Also Studio and their team of young aspiring artists focused on the theme of growth and regeneration, choosing the motif of a dandelion and its seeds being blown on the wind. The results included a striking permanent artwork for the exterior of the building as well as imaginative installations and exhibitions throughout the interior.

Responding to a commission o create a permanent lighting feature for the building, the Barcode group used coloured vinyls applied to every window to create a ‘barcode’ reflecting the idea of identity and the uniqueness of every Gallery 37 participant.

Devising everything from scratch, participants from Birmingham Children’s Hospital staged two fantastic drama performances at Millennium Point. The main source of inspiration was the interactive science display at Thinktank at Millennium Point, with the group learning not only about drama but also stage lighting, sound and set creation.
