Young People

Active recruitment for participants starts in late Spring / early Summer each year. An Apprentice Artist Application form is available on this website and can be completed and submitted online (live link). No arts experience is necessary, just an interest in the arts and a commitment to gaining some qualifications while on the programme.

If you are applying for Gallery 37 you need to be able to commit to the whole three week programme which this year is: Monday 26th July until Friday 13th August 2010 (weekdays between 10am - 5pm). The deadline for submitting an application is Friday 9th July.

Once you have filled out the application form, if you are eligible you may be invited to an interview. Specific interview dates are to be confirmed but they are expected to take place in July 2010 in central Birmingham. You will need to bring proof of ID e.g. NI card, passport or medical card. If selected we will write to you with details of which project you have been selected for and the start date and times. If you are unsuccessful at this stage you will be put onto a waiting list and may be called if a place becomes available.

Gallery 37 operates a selection process which prioritises those of greatest need, but access to vocational advice and guidance is ensured for interviewees.

In order to be eligible for the programme you will need to be aged between 16 and 24, living in Birmingham and not actively engaged in employment or education.
